Hear Ye, Hear Ye...Changes to the Blog Are Coming!

a silhouette of a woman with a megaphone

When I first began blogging, my intention was to create a place to store and share my thoughts about narcissism recovery, creating a healthy lifestyle, and how to put it all together in order to move from surviving to thriving. That way, clients wouldn't have to take notes in session, and they'd be able to reread and consider topics we'd discussed before their next session. And because my take on narcissism recovery is unique in a number of ways, I thought having a blog would be helpful for potential clients to get a feel for how I approach therapy.

In the beginning, I had just a few site subscribers, and a small group of email subscribers. Even so, blogging was tremendously rewarding. It's so satisfying to hear from clients and subscribers alike that my blog posts have been useful!

But it wasn't long before site subscribers began to include spammers, and the small group of email subscribers grew considerably. Spammers require me to monitor my site, delete them and their comments, and block them. I was only able to send out a small number of emails for free, so with the increase in email subscribers, the cost of sending out the emails increased. On top of the cost increase, I've been made aware that you may, or may not, receive that weekly email notification, despite the fact that I'm paying for you to receive it!

I could hire someone else to monitor my website, and I could pay still more to make it more likely to ensure you receive your weekly email notification. But at the end of the day, I'm a therapist, not a blogger, and my focus is micro, not macro. I'd rather cut back on costs related to my blog, and continue to offer therapy sessions at the same rates I've charged since October 2022.

So, moving forward, there will be two changes. First, in order to protect my website from spam and bot attacks, I've deleted all previous site member information. And I've set up my website so that when you sign up to become a site member, I'll need to verify your email address, then manually make you a site member. So, if you choose to be a site member, you'll be in an elite group! (#sorrynotsorry, spammers!)

Second, after today's email notification, I will no longer be offering the option to sign up for a weekly email notification. If you'd like a weekly email notification, you will need to sign up to become a site member.

If you're currently an email subscriber, know that because I take privacy seriously, and I don't do anything with your information that you haven't asked me to do, I'll be deleting your email subscriber information after today's email.

To those of you who were site members before, or if you signed up for the weekly email notification (or maybe both!), please know I appreciate your support tremendously. I know it's a bit of a hassle to sign up again as a site member if you'd already done so. And I recognize it's a bit more effort to log into the website weekly to check out Friday's blog post.

Rest assured, I'll continue to post free quality content about narcissism recovery and creating a healthy lifestyle that will make those minor inconveniences well worth your while. Every time you log in, you'll be learning more about how to make the shift from surviving to thriving. And you deserve to thrive!
